Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue hosted the Czech Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Jan Šnajdauf, on Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance cultural and economic cooperation and exchange expertise between the two sides.
The Head of the Forum, Ali Al-Talqani, welcomed the visiting delegation, alongside forum members Dr. Khalid Al-Ardawi, Dr. Hameed Muslim Al-Turufi, and jurist Ahmed Jwaid.
The meeting featured an extensive discussion on Iraqi and regional issues, and the role of research centers and civil society organizations in supporting reform pathways and decision-making, thereby contributing to advancing security and stability and opening new horizons for cooperation between Iraq and Czechia.
Al-Talqani reviewed the forum's activities in intellectual, research, and diplomatic fields, as well as its cooperation with international institutions, emphasizing that civil society organizations constitute a "fundamental pillar for supporting the democratic experience and providing decision-makers with studies and research dealing with societal challenges."
Additionally, a set of joint proposals was presented, including academic fellowships for researchers, the establishment of an Iraqi-Czech commercial exchange forum, training programs for administrative reform and governance inspired by the Czech experience, alongside a joint cultural forum comprising workshops and intellectual and media events, with an agreement to establish a practical mechanism for following up on the implementation of these initiatives.
For his part, Ambassador Jan Šnajdauf praised the atmosphere of dialogue and partnership during the meeting, noting that "Iraq is witnessing development in the areas of reconstruction and services, and seeks to build a positive image in the region and the world," affirming his country's support for international efforts aimed at keeping Iraq away from areas of conflict.
He added that bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, education, culture, and the exchange of scientific expertise constitutes a priority, confirming the Czech Embassy's readiness to strengthen the partnership.
This visit comes as part of a series of diplomatic meetings conducted by the Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue with foreign missions, within the framework of encouraging international openness, consolidating constructive intercultural dialogue, and supporting reform and development initiatives in Iraq.
