The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and Head of the "UNAMI" Mission, Dr. Mohammad Al-Hassan, expressed his pride in his visit to Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue in Karbala on August 29, 2025, praising the forum's role in bringing together representatives of civil society.
In a message following his meeting with a select group of intellectual and academic figures, Al-Hassan stated: "I was extremely pleased with this visit to such an edifice, where I met with an elite and distinguished group of civil society representatives, and I found unprecedented maturity and awareness... May Allah preserve Iraq."
The visit was considered an occasion to strengthen channels of dialogue with civil actors in Iraq, at a time when the country faces political and social challenges that require solutions based on dialogue and partnership, as well as the consolidation of efforts in confronting internal and external challenges threatening Iraq's stability, while stressing the role of dialogue and civil society in enhancing public trust, supporting the democratic path, and opening new horizons for reform and sustainable development.
