The Head of the Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue received Canada's Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Christopher Beam, and his accompanying high-level diplomatic delegation at the Forum's headquarters in Karbala. Several prominent figures from the forum, including Dr. Khalid Al-Ardawi, Dr. Riyadh Al-Masoudi, and Dr. Hameed Al-Turufi, attended the meeting
The meeting addressed a range of pivotal issues, including the role of research centers and organizations in strengthening stability, regional conflicts in the Middle East, the future of international relations, the upcoming elections, the impacts of climate change on Iraq, and relevant international initiatives. The discussions also reviewed the forum's activities since its inception, which have focused on political, cultural, and public service aspects, supporting human rights and the Iraqi political project, alongside efforts to enhance interfaith dialogue, cultural and civil activism, and legislative reform initiatives.
The meeting pointed out the importance of supporting democracy, strengthening good governance, and fostering cooperation between authorities, civil society institutions, and research centers to combat corruption and develop various fields.
The Canadian Ambassador praised the discussions that addressed local, regional, and international issues, noting the importance of the international community's role in supporting Iraq. He considered that relative security stability provides greater opportunities to enhance communication between diplomatic missions and Iraqi society, expressing his optimism for Iraq's future and Canada's commitment to strengthening cooperation in multiple fields.
