Karbala – Italian Ambassador to Iraq Maurizio Greganti began his tour of the Holy City of Karbala with a visit to Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue.
The ambassador and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Forum Head Ali Al-Talaqani, Political Affairs Advisor Dr. Muslim Abbas, News Director Kamal Ubaid, and legal expert and Forum member Ahmed Jwaid.
In his opening remarks, Al-Talaqani welcomed the ambassador and his delegation, outlining the Forum’s activities in promoting a culture of dialogue and supporting a democratic society. He discussed Iraq’s image amid shifting global dynamics, highlighting the international community's role in supporting the country and its vision toward a stable democratic system.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador expressed his pleasure with the visit and the warm reception, commending the stable security environment across Iraq's provinces. He outlined Italy's investment ambitions in Iraq and its support for economic stability, stressing the vital role that think tanks, research centers, and the media play in reinforcing this stability.
Adding to the discussion, Dr. Muslim Abbas detailed the role of research centers in supporting democratic societies by producing specialized studies and research. He stressed their importance in supporting security and stability, as well as establishing new pathways for Iraq with regional countries and the broader world.
