Al-Nabaa Forum, Federal Commission of Integrity Discuss Joint Strategy to Enhance Civil Oversight

Baghdad – Advancing integration between the research sector and institutional oversight bodies, Ali Al-Talaqani, Head of Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue, held an extensive consultative meeting with Ayman Dawood Salman, Director General of the Relations Department at the Federal Commission of Integrity. The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation and ways to develop oversight efforts through a sustainable intellectual approach.

The meeting, attended by an executive team from the Forum and senior officials from the Relations Department, featured a comprehensive review of previous joint initiatives. Discussions centered on mechanisms to execute projects tied to the government’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy, ensuring these efforts align closely with Al-Nabaa Forum’s 2026–2030 strategic plan while promoting complementary roles between civil society and official oversight bodies.

Both parties agreed to formalize these understandings by signing an official memorandum of cooperation in the near future. This agreement will provide a legal and operational framework for joint initiatives and streamline the exchange of expertise and data to promote public transparency.

The officials also discussed the crucial role of non-governmental organizations in raising public awareness of legal and civil rights. Participants stressed the importance of public education in cultivating a societal rejection of corruption and building grassroots support for the Commission of Integrity's mandate, leveraging the symposia, training workshops, and dialogue platforms managed by the Forum.

The meeting concluded with a shared affirmation that overcoming current administrative and financial challenges requires an exceptional convergence of "thought" and "execution." Through its forward-looking strategy, Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue aims to supply state institutions with practical studies and solutions to support sustainable reform in Iraq.
